Where H & H Lawn Care works.

Locally owned and operated out of Rome, Georgia for 47 years. Our routes cover ten Georgia cities and three in East Alabama.

What we actually see on the ground in each area.

Lawn care in Rome, GA

Our home base: the office and shop sit on Calhoun Road, so Rome lawns get the shortest drive and the fastest response in the whole service area. Rome is Piedmont clay through and through: acid, tight, and quick to compact, which is why a soil test and a lime recommendation start almost every program we write here.

Lawn care in Carrollton, GA

Carrollton runs to full-sun Bermuda on established lots and Zoysia on the newer installs. Both are warm-season and both live or die on pre-emergent timing, but Zoysia takes roughly half the nitrogen Bermuda does, and feeding them the same way is how you end up with thatch and large patch.

Lawn care in Dalton, GA

Dalton sits a little higher and a little cooler than Rome, and more lawns up here are tall fescue as a result. Fescue is a fall-renovation grass in this climate, so the September aeration-and-seed visit is the one that decides how the lawn looks the following July.

Lawn care in Cartersville, GA

Full-sun subdivisions on scraped red clay, which is close to the worst starting condition turf can get: the topsoil left with the grading and the subsoil got driven on by everything that built the house. Compaction is the first thing we address on most Cartersville properties.

Lawn care in Calhoun, GA

A short run north from the shop, so Calhoun lawns hold a tight rotation. Most of what a program actually requires is showing up in the right week rather than the right month, and the drive is what decides whether that happens.

Lawn care in Cedartown, GA

Cedartown properties tend to run large, and acreage is where a real fertility and pre-emergent program separates itself from mow-and-blow. It is also where getting pre-emergent down on time pays for itself, because chasing crabgrass across an acre in June is not cheap.

Lawn care in Acworth, GA

Tight-lot subdivisions where every lawn on the street is being compared to the one beside it. Small lots also mean fence-line shade and heat reflected off pavement, so the same grass on the same program can behave very differently front to back.

Lawn care in Aragon, GA

Small-town Aragon is well inside the route and gets the same seven visits, the same soil test and the same standard as any estate property we treat.

Lawn care in Chatsworth, GA

Up against Fort Mountain, with more shade and a slower spring warm-up than the valley floor. Bermuda wants six to eight hours of direct sun and will not hold under a hardwood canopy no matter what we feed it; on a lot of Chatsworth lots the honest answer is Zoysia, fescue, or a bed.

Lawn care in Summerville, GA

Summerville is the north end of our Georgia route and gets the same program on the same schedule. Chattooga County soil warms a little later, so pre-emergent timing shifts with the soil temperature rather than the calendar.

Lawn care in Centre, AL

Weiss Lake properties get the full program, and the mosquito service matters more here than almost anywhere we work, though it is usually the standing water on the lot, not the lake, doing the breeding.

Lawn care in Cedar Bluff, AL

A regular stop on the East Alabama route, lake lots included. Waterfront turf deals with more shade along the tree line and steady traffic on the path down to the dock, which is usually exactly where the thin strip shows up.

Lawn care in Leesburg, AL

Leesburg rounds out East Alabama, with the same crews and the same standards we run in Georgia. Coosa-bottom lots hold moisture longer, and turf that stays wet finds disease before it finds anything else.
