Mosquito Control

Adult mosquitoes spend most of their lives resting in cool, shaded, humid cover rather than out in the open lawn. That is the entire basis of the service: treat the harborage where they rest and the population drops, and spraying open turf accomplishes very little.

The application goes where they actually are: the underside of deck boards, the interior of shrub lines and ivy, along fence rows and wood edges, under eaves, and through the low shaded plantings on the north side of the house. Treatments run every 30 to 35 days because that is roughly how long a residual holds on foliage through a Georgia summer of heat and afternoon rain, not because it makes a tidy schedule.

The other half is water, and it matters more than most people expect. The mosquitoes biting you in your own backyard mostly hatched in your own backyard: the Asian tiger mosquito does most of the biting here, it breeds in about a bottle cap of water, and it does not fly far to find you. Clogged gutters, corrugated downspout extensions, tarps, boat covers, wheelbarrows, plant saucers, pet bowls, the low spot beside the AC pad, an old tire behind the shed. Anything holding water for a week is a nursery. We walk the property and tell you what we find, and the sites that cannot be drained get a larvicide instead.

The season runs from the first sustained warm stretch in spring to first frost: around here, late April through the end of October. It pairs naturally with the lawn pest control application, and it is the service customers notice fastest, usually inside a visit or two.
